About the Artists

Shanty Lewis-Domenech

I have been painting for more than 15 years, and drawing since I can remember. My art style ranges from very realistic drawings, to very whimsical paintings that are unique artistic arrangements. I learned to paint from watching art instructional shows on cable TV during the summer when school was out when I was in middle school. Bob Ross was my favorite, and probably where I got my inclination to “speed paint” from. Then when I got into high school I ended up with an exceptionally talented art teacher who gave me pointers to take my artwork to the next level. Once I got out of high school I pursued art as a hobby, and continued to teach myself through trial and error, and from really working out artistic arrangements in my head and painting them in my mind before ever attempting the piece.

I also have experience with book illustrations. I created all the illustrations for a children's book that I wrote called Toot, which will be out sometime in 2010. Once it is out I will announce it on this site. Producing art whether it be writing, painting, or drawing is my passion, and now I'm excited to share that passion with my clients.

In the thumbnail gallery above you can see examples of the art that myself and Lisa Cassell have produced. I hope we can have the opportunity to make your favorite pet photo a work of art!

Lisa Cassell

I have been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. As a child I would fill our books back covers and, to my Moms dislike, the walls with pictures. Animals, especially horses, were my favorite subjects. After I grew up and married I used my ability to help in my brother-in-laws sign business. I helped do signs like "The Country Mouse" and "The Peach Basket" and many others. In 1985 I was introduced to painting. I fell in love with it. I got all the books I could get my hands on and took a class here and there to get going and now I can't stop. My style is realistic to impressionistic but I lean toward portrait painting. I work mainly in oils and occasionally acrylics. I want to paint what I see. Anything that makes me happy is an inspiration for a painting. Pets and people, especially children, are my favorite subjects.

I will be teaching drawing and painting in McDonough in mid Jan.2010. If you are interested or you know someone who is, please contact me at artcfartclisa@yahoo.com My dream is to open a gallery and studio in Henry County one day. Til then I would love to get to know all of you who love art as much as I do.
